Project Details:

The GB Club aimed to enhance their football field with a state-of-the-art LED lighting system, ensuring superior illumination.  The field, measuring 105m x 66m, features six 16-meter poles along its longer sides.  The proposed solution included 42 units of 2000W Arena floodlights, designed to deliver highly uniform lighting at an average intensity of 800 Lux.  The system achieved an exceptional uniformity ratio (U₀) of 0.86, with a Min-to-Max Lux ratio of 0.7, meeting stringent requirements for TV broadcasting.

Challenges

● Extreme Cold: Norway’s harsh winters bring temperatures as low as -40°C to -50°C, posing significant challenges to LED durability and functionality.

● Coastal Conditions: The field’s proximity to Norway’s long coastline exposes the lights to corrosive sea breezes and moisture, necessitating robust, weatherproof solutions.

Results

The installed LED system has successfully operated for many years, enduring the tough environmental conditions without significant issues.  The club is highly satisfied with their investment, and the players are enjoying enhanced visibility and an improved gaming experience.
